A Measure of Realism
Before anyone rushes to declare the dethroning of Meta, a cold splash of realism is required.
Appeals will drag out across years. More importantly, Meta still commands billions of daily eyeballs. Advertisers might grumble into their lattes, but they rarely abandon potent conversion machinery purely on principle.
Besides, Meta is hardly the only platform under scrutiny. Alphabet has its own regulatory targets on its back. The entire business model of hoovering up user data to flog targeted trainers is under siege from global watchdogs.
Any reallocation of advertising budgets could easily falter, and shifting share prices might simply reflect fleeting noise rather than durable trends. In digital advertising, regulatory hazards spare no one, and capital is always at risk. Keep your wits about you, because this courtroom theatre is far from over.
