Sticky Traps and Investor Reality
What CrowdStrike is attempting here is an ecosystem play. By tethering fresh startups to its security fabric alongside Nvidia chips and AWS servers, it creates operational friction.
Once an enterprise adopts this interwoven stack, ripping it out becomes absolute agony. That sticky inconvenience is often the quiet engine that keeps enterprise software valuations afloat.
Yet, I would caution against unbridled euphoria. Being first to plant a flag does not guarantee long-term supremacy. Corporate technology budgets could easily tighten if economic growth wobbles, and rivals like Palo Alto Networks are hardly asleep at the wheel. Furthermore, Nvidia's deepening footprint in infrastructure means chipmakers might eventually encroach on the software territory themselves.
CrowdStrike is buying early visibility into the battlefield. Whether that actually translates to durable shareholder returns remains an open question.
